keep the reactor happy. together.

Run a nuclear plant with your friends. Get paid in doughnuts.

A cute, chaotic co-op game for 1 to 4 players, each on their own iPhone or iPad. One of you minds the rods. Everyone else runs, fetches, fixes and yells.

How it plays

One shift is four minutes. It goes roughly like this.

  1. A pink Nukee at the control rods. Behind it, the order board shows what the plant is making, what the town wants now and the order coming in 25 seconds.

    Work ticket 1

    Feed Doughnut Town

Power bakes doughnuts, and Nukeez eat doughnuts. Raise the rods until the arrow says WAIT. The order board shows what the town wants next.

  2. A broken turbine with a giant wrench beside it. A crewmate says: Dear Mom, the turbine is broken and SO photogenic.

    Work ticket 2

    Something just broke

Go and look. Fetch the tool it shows. Mend it before it gets worse. It will get worse: leave a rattle long enough and the turbine goes through the wall.

  3. A work ticket reading Pigeons in the Tower, with a flock of pigeons gathering below the cooling tower.

    Work ticket 3

    Company's coming

Pigeons in the cooling tower. A goose in a beret who has your wrench. Every plant has visitors, and they all have terrible timing.

Easy to start

It starts with one lever.

At Tree Smile Island you only mind the control rods. Wind-up helpers run the rest, until they break. Each plant after that hands you one more control, and Foreman Fern shows you how the first time you get there.

From the seventh plant on you have the whole machine, and every plant adds trouble of its own: rush-hour traffic, a submarine’s narrow hatches, a very good dog.

Co-op

Bring friends. Or don't.

Everyone plays on their own phone or tablet, in the same room, on the same Wi-Fi. One phone hosts the plant and the others join it with a four-digit code. There are no accounts, and no internet is needed.

Short a friend, or three? The crew fills the empty seats. They fetch tools, shout about what's broken and leave the heroics to you.

  • Touch anywhere to walk. One big button does the rest.
  • Three settings, from Easy as Doughnut Pie to WE NEED AN ADULT!
  • One person can stop the reactor. It takes two to wake her up.

Neglect has consequences

Ignore the rattle and the wall goes.

Trouble you leave alone gets bigger. Walls breach, floor lids blow out, cabinets go bang. Then somebody finds a plank, and the hole turns out to be a shortcut.

The turbine housing leaves the building.
A steam jet opens a new door.
One plank, one wrench, good as new.

The plants

Twenty plants. Here are five.

Every plant has its own shape, its own quirks and its own way of going wrong. Tina sends a postcard home from each one. The rest you’ll have to see for yourself.

Story mode

Get Baby Bloop home.

On the crew’s first morning, the reactor hiccups out Bloop: a glowing baby glob who is homesick for a place it has never been.

Story mode is the trip to take it there. Foreman Fern drives the Doughnut Bus, Bloop rides in a jar, and the crew hops from plant to plant to keep it warm. Short in-game films carry the story along the way: one as you arrive at each plant, and one as you leave.

This is how it starts. Sound on.

The Break Room: lockers, the prize machine, a cat on the rug and souvenirs from the road.

Between shifts

Payday is in the Break Room.

Doughnuts are wages. Spend them at the prize machine on more than a thousand hats, at the vending machine on a mobility scooter, or on a goose who has agreed to carry tools for you.

  • A trophy from every plant you clear. You can sit in one of them.
  • A special hat at each plant for doing something clever there.
  • A library of five books, including a manual that explains real reactors.
  • Everything is earned by playing. Nothing is for sale.

Questions

Before you clock in

More answers are on the support page, and a real person reads support@nukeez.com.

When does it come out?

NUKEEZ is in testing now and is coming to the App Store for iPhone and iPad. There's no date yet.

Can I play on my own?

Yes. The crew fills the other seats, and the whole road trip can be played solo.

Does everyone need to buy it?

Each player needs the game on their own iPhone or iPad. With Apple's Family Sharing, one purchase can be shared with your family.

Can we play over the internet?

No. NUKEEZ is a same-room game: everyone joins over the Wi-Fi you're all on. It's better when you can hear each other yell.

Is this what real nuclear plants are like?

Not even slightly. NUKEEZ is a cartoon. Real plants are run by very careful people, and they are very safe. One of the books in the game's library explains the difference.

Four googly-eyed Nukeez in hats, standing in front of a smiling egg-shaped reactor.

Clock in, crew.
